The factors affecting ink absorbency of pigment coated paperwere discussed.Theresults show that, within a certain range, the amount of latex increases, thesurface porosity of the coating decreases, ink absorption decreases;With a certain proportion of starch, ink absorptionsignificantly improved, coated paper smoothness and optical propertiesdecreased;Grinding calciumcarbonate ratio increased, coating porosity increased, ink absorption.Paint pH value, ink absorption slightly improved, but not on theprinting gloss. Drying temperature will rapidly increase ink absorption; the effectof infrared drying on ink absorption is milder than that of electro thermalplate drying.
